Charly Bliss, The Parish, Austin, Photos – Write-up

Charly Bliss grabbed my attention 5 years ago at SXSW 2019 so thoroughly that I had to catch three of their shows that year; so it was no surprise I had to see them on this tour cycle for their first full length album that was released since then, titled Forever.  If you’ve never been to a Charly Bliss show, it’s hard to truly capture the energy of their set.  It’s unequivocally power pop and bubble grunge all wrapped together nicely with a punk energy that is an all-gas dance party fronted by frontwoman Eva that is a conduit for the music and emotion.  Most bands not performing at the ACL festival would think twice about playing Austin, but the band let the audience know Austin wasn’t initially on the tour map, but they insisted that it was added.  The crowd definitely showed their appreciation and reciprocated all the emotion back to the band throughout the night.  Make sure you catch them and check out their new album if you haven’t yet!
