Some nerdcore royalty kicked off their fall tour in Austin on Wednesday! Schaffer the Darklord (STD) started things with some sex positive and socially conscious bars. Schaffer even dipped into a few new songs from the debut album from The Department of Darkness, a new project of STD and Vince Vandal. STD made sure that we are reminding all the Tobys to behave.
Mega Ran took the stage next! The former teacher dropped rhymes featuring your favorite song, video games, and WWE. Not sure how nerdy the WWE is, but Mega Ran takes the fandom to that level. Mega Ran’s flow is incredible and must be seen to believe.
The godfather of nerdcore, MC Frontalot did the damn thing! As a seasoned professional, Frontalot used every inch of the stage, commanding the attention of the crowd without requesting it. MC Frontalot has such a unique flow that will never be replicated, but it’s nice to see others try.
Lit-hop king, MC Lars finished up the lineup and didn’t disappoint! Keeping with the trend of the evening, all the other rappers were brought to the stage for phenomenal features. This included a new track from the Mega Ran/MC Lars upcoming project, “The Dewey Decibel System.” A highlight of the many, was Lars and Frontalot a cappella rapping O.G. Original gamer. The night ended with a fan dance off that included the worm, flossing, and many other exceptional dance moves! Do everything you can to catch this amazing lineup this fall!
