The Psychedelic Furs have been a band for almost 50 years, and their performance at the Mohawk was a proof that practice over time makes perfection. Richard Butler’s smokey, grizzled, and low voice sounds just as good live now as they did recorded decades ago, thrilling the sold out crowd. They may not have released a full length studio album since 1991, but their songs are unmistakable and classic. Their hit Pretty in Pink is cemented in the annals of 80’s soundtrack history as inspiration for the John Hughes film of the same name; and now a new generation will know them with their song The Ghost in You playing in the TV show Stranger Things and Love My Way in the movie Call Me By Your Name.
