November 13th, 2024 will forever be known as the day that Sampha strolled through ATX and raised the bar for live performances. With his soulful voice and genre-bending style, Sampha connected with the audience through tears and joy. Sampha’s setlist contained a lot of hits from his recent album “Lahai’ as well as others from past albums. Opening with “Plastic 100°C”, Sampha used this song to create a seamless transition into “Hold On” that left the crowd in awe of his talent. Each concert there is always a crowd favorite that everyone is waiting for, but for this concert it felt like every song was a crowd favorite. One of my standout moments was ‘Spirit 2.0″, where Sampha’s voice had fully captivated the audience. It is always a beautiful sight to see an artist perform for his fans in an intimate setting. Despite Texas being the final stop on his tour, the Austin audience gave Sampha a memorable sendoff. Counting down the days until he returns to Austin again.
