Snow Tha Product’s “The Goin’ Off Tour” stopped in Austin at Emo’s with a whirlwind of rap, green laser, and champagne. While it was a raucous riot of a party, each rapper had their story of struggle, encouragement, and triumph to tell. Castro and Jandro got the crowd hyped up for Snow, with an amazing performance by both. Castro went first, backed up by Jandro. Jandro, the youngest in the crew, went next with backing by Castro. The common thread was their passion about the movement, the cause, and the culture. Castro talked about his humble beginnings, how he crossed the border as a child, worked hard on his come up, and honed his skills. Jandro was a non stop fireball on stage. By the time Snow got on stage, the crowd was more than primed as the rest of her squad came on stage again to provide backing power only someone of her caliber would assemble. They were on the home stretch of the tour and her voice was starting to go, so she sang some of her ballads first in case her voice was totally shot in the course of her two hour set. Snow has never been one to bite her tongue, but she still seemed even freer somehow as she was no longer tied to a label who didn’t believe in her, and took time in between songs to talk current events, political issues, and Mexican culture and pride. Never miss her energy if you get a chance!
