South by Southwest (SXSW) 2019 has once again has come and gone. If you look west to LA you can see the high-water mark of SXSW 2014. Whether you were here for film, interactive, music or all of the above we are assured all of us in attendance had a blast. During interactive we had our minds blown with amazing set ups and experiences. Amazon’s Good Omens with its realistic characters and Tree of Life made us even more excited about seeing Neil Gaiman’s book come to life.
HBO’s Bleed for the Throne made us feel like we were a part of the Game of Throne’s world. Knelling to the queen after donating blood and walking through a realistic world with characters from the show made us more excited to watch the upcoming final season.
Netflix’s Highwaymen House was an immersive experience that took place in a speakeasy where we could have a drink with the characters while enjoying great bands that were well-suited for the event. Playing poker and black jack with other guests and joining in on the hunt for the Lumber Jack.
Capitol One once again brought us an amazing line up during interactive which included a local musician’s Duncan Fellows, Tamea Jones, Abraham Alexander and Coalition each night followed by some of the top acts in the business. A few lucky SXSWers got to attend an intimate acoustic sets with Bishop Briggs, CHVRCHES, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and JUNGLE before their big shows that same night.
With so much abundance of great music to see, sometimes we end up having to make a hard choices. Choosing between Nelly at the Vevo house or JUNGLE. Bleacher’s at the Rachel Ray party or every other day party on Saturday. Shaffer the Darklord and Lex the Lexicon Artist at nerdcore or Haiku Hands. No matter what choices we made… we all know we’ll be back next year because we’re addicted. Don’t forget to check out MF Mabel’s interviews!
